Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of creativity training on improving problem-solving skills and reducing social anxiety among the shy students of primary school for boys in tafresh city. This applied research was experimental ( semi-experimental ) with pre-test and post-test with control group. The population of the study was boys students of second grade primary school of tafresh . That was determined through interviews with relevant experts (teachers, counselors, and school administrators),42 students were introduced as shy students. The test group received creative training in 6 weeks and the pre-test data were collected using questionnaire, Heppner & Patterson (psi)1982, and LSAS 1987 social phobia. After analyzing and grading students with high performance and low social anxiety, the sample was removed and the rest of the students were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups with a number of students. the experimental group) took advantage of creativity training in the art ring for 6 weeks. after the end of the training period, the questionnaire was administered to both experimental and control groups and the scores were recorded. to test the research hypotheses, the analysis of covariance and using spss software was used. for to investigate the assumption of equality of variance, the levin test was used. The results of data analysis showed that creativity training has an impact on increasing skill-solving skill in three sub-scales of trust in problem solving, tendency-avoidance style and personal control. but it has no effect on reducing social anxiety.
